Labelling Whatnot breaks: spots, teams and respins
Breaks are the trickiest sales to label. In a random break, the buyer pays first and gets their team or spot a moment later — and sometimes the spot is respun. Printing too early means printing the wrong spot.
How TagPop handles breaks
- Random spots: the label waits until the spot is assigned (with a short settle time, about 10 seconds, in case it changes), then prints with the spot name.
- Pick-your-spot: the buyer already chose, so the label prints straight away.
- Respins after printing: a clearly marked "CORRECTED" label prints automatically with the new spot, so you know to swap it.
- End of show: if any break spots were never assigned, TagPop warns you before you finish, so nothing gets missed.
Every break buyer gets the same buyer number as their other purchases in the show, so their break items go in the same bag.
Tips for break shows
- Print a test label before the break, so the printer is warm and lined up.
- Keep corrected labels in a separate pile until you've swapped them.
- Use the Buyers tab after the break to check every spot has a buyer.
