How to pack Whatnot orders fast: buyer numbers explained
The slowest part of a big show is often the packing afterwards: dozens of buyers, hundreds of items, and the same buyer winning ten times. Buyer numbers turn that into a quick sorting job.
How buyer numbers work
- The first person to buy in your show is #1, the next new buyer is #2, and so on.
- A buyer keeps the same number all show, however many times they buy. Giveaway winners get a number too.
- Numbers start again at #1 for each new show.
Because the number is big on every label, you (or a helper) can sort by number at a glance, without reading usernames.
A packing system that works
- During the show: as each label prints, stick it on the item (or its sleeve, top-loader or bag) and drop it into the bag or box with that number.
- After the show: print the buyer list — by number, or A–Z to match the order of your shipping labels. TagPop prints it on A4 or 6×4, or exports a spreadsheet.
- Pack bag by bag: each numbered bag is one parcel. Check it against the platform's order list, add the shipping label, done.
When something changes
- A payment fails: a "PAYMENT FAILED" slip prints so you can hold that item.
- An order is cancelled after its label printed: a "VOID — do not ship" label prints, and the list shows it.
- A label gets lost or smudged: reprint it with one click from the Live or Buyers tab.
Always check against your platform's official order list before posting — labels are a packing aid, not a replacement for it.
